Soul Blade: One Of The Best Fighters On The Playstation

I first picked up this game a year after it's release and I am now just rating it. This was the game that started the Soul Calibur series. I like how in this game that they give you the nice ending movie and story, they don't do that in Soul Calibur. In Soul Calibur you have to wait for the next game to be released to find out who did what with the prize. And in Soul Calibur II they are lacking the classic characters that made Soul Blade and Soul Calibur great. Graphics on this game are the best you can get on a fighter on the Playstation. Even with it's graphical prowess it still has a solid fighting system, no lag, with fast paced action. It's easy to pick up and learn the fighting styles, no long combos that need to be remembered. Nice and basic the, way all fighters should be, but there are also more difficult moves to perform for those that want a challenge. Soul Blade also has a nice array of modes including: Arcade, Time Attack, Survival, Edgemaster Mode, Team Battle, Versus. The only mode that isn't really that fun for the average player would be Edgemaster Mode, the tasks are quite repetitive and very difficult to perform. Character wise there's not very many since it's on the original Playstation, but that's alright, it's a classic. There are some secret characters to unlock and some interesting suits to earn. The best part is the costume selection, there's quite a few to select from. If only they made games as fun as these.
