This years addition to the series starts you off with of list of selections, beginning with a simple "Race now" option and leading to the more complex season and career modes. "Race now" provides you with a more freestyle feel, giving you the choice of selecting any one of your favorite drivers and tracks and allowing you to race instantly. However, most fans will be immediately drawn to the Season and Career modes after you've captured the feel for the game. Season mode allows you to pick or create your own driver, decide how many races you'll run and what difficulty you'll compete at. Everything is set for you, the pit crew, money and such so all you'll have to focus on is "Racing." During a season mode, a maximum of 20 years will be provided for you to master your own racing success. Though, the core of the game revolves around Career mode. You'll begin with roughly 60,000 dollars to build a car and hire crew members at an affordable price. The crew members you acquire to your team are split into two groups, the pit crew, as well the builder's group who's main objective is to repair your engines, chassis, and body, as well as putting their efforts into some Research and Development so you can accommodate better parts to your car. As you progress and stock up on some cash, it'll be time to make some various upgrades to improve the overall performance of your car. As far as the graphics and gameplay, the cars are beautifully textured, reflecting the real thing. The tracks are highly detailed which gives you a greater sense of speed. The gameplay has vastly improved from it's earlier versions, this time with a smoother framerate and a more realistic style of racing.
