MDK2: Humor at it's Best

Who says sequals are bad? Not anybody who has played MDK2 before. The game mixes a few good elements along with some hilarious dialogue for a good ole laugh fest. Throught the game you'll play as one of 3 characters in order to complete the challanges that suit them. Kurt is adept at sniping, floating around with his balloon like parachute, and using items to distract and protect himself. Max is a run-and-gun dog with an attitude. And that's about all you do with him in his levels. Shoot waves of aliens and fly around with a rocket a bit for good measure. The good doctor's levels are more puzzle orientated as he will collect items which can be used to create weapons or solutions to "sticky predicerments." All of these gameplay elements work well together and don't cause any jarring learning curve at all, but jumping is still an inevitability. Jumping puzzles in this game aren't necessarily hard, but they take way too long at times, and slow down the great pace of the game. The puzzles can be unfair also. Running around in a room for 20 minutes before finding out you have to use an item isn't very fun, but the light heartedness of the game easilly makes up for this. The main problem with the game is that it's like a piece of gum. The flavor is great the first time, but it eventually runs out and you deffinantly don't want to reuse it. Once your finished with the story mode, that's it. Nothing else. Replayability just isn't there. The dialouge isn't exactly professional, but it shour is hilarious. Every word will relax any frustrated gamers hot red face for a little while. The music is also good, and punctuates the situation the character is in. Getting the right mix of strategy, action, and puzzle solving is something other's have tried to do and failed while MDK2 pulls it off with style. Add some great humor to the game and you've got a winner.
