While it's not exactly the best looking game of all time, needless to say the old school is back and better than we could've imagined. Bringing back the side-scroller style that made the first Metroid games so incredibly popular back in the 80's and early 90's. Metroid Fusion puts together a fine touch of new abilities mixed with the original missiles, bombs, and special hidden items. Sadly, instead of the Ice Beam, you'll find the Ice Missiles. Though not the same, the Ice Missiles can be even more useful once you're able to charge them up. But not to worry, you'll end up using the ever popular Ice Beam near the end. The story no longer revolves solely around the Metroids, Mother Brain and her Zebesian Space Pirates. This story is about a virus called the "X." Though most of the original characters are missing, this new storyline definitly gives players an incredible action ride to make up for it. If you haven't played Samus Aran's latest edition to the original series, I suggest trying it out. But for those that have enjoyed Prime, may not like it as it does not follow the changed story that new Metroid fans love.
