How can a company take a well-loved 32 player PC FPS and turn it into a 1-2 player console FPS? Where's the 4-player split screen, or 8-player link mode? I'm not cool enough to have a T1 internet connection (I think most of us aren't), yet that's what it takes in order to host a full 16-player online match. That's sounds to me like Sierra was more interested in spouting off numbers than making a better game that's more accessible to the general population. Look past that, and the next problem (in my opinion, the biggest) is the control scheme. Can we say "Customizable", because Sierra can't. If they could do it for Half-Life, why not Tribes? Ok, moving on... I know I just ripped this game, but in reality, once you get yourself past these issues, Tribes becomes one of the best, most exciting, and most innovative multi- player FPS to be offered on the PS2. There really is no "story". Even the campaign mode is just the different multi-player games played against the computer, but once you start blowing away the competition with remote turrets and chaingun fly-bys, Tribes becomes highly addictive (Hence the 4.0 fun factor).
