Going back to the Sega Saturn days, Virtua Fighter has always been a favorite to many gamers. But, when it was announced that Virtua Fighter 4 would be shipped for the PS2, I couldn't wait to see how it turned out. My Guess: It was going to be great. The Reality: It was that, it was more than great. The game itself should be a model for any genre of game, from strategy, to sport, to even a "mosquito role- playing game" (no pun intended). But, Virtua Fighter 4 is a great game to play. First of all, the graphics are second to none. The fluidness of the hair, down to the shoestrings of Jacky, are done in a very realistic fashion. The stages for this game are incredible. I have not seen better stages since the Soul Calibur and the DOA games. The way objects are animated in the background are amazing. For intance, on Jeffrey's board, you fight upon a sandy beach or island of some sort, and there is a small plane in the background while the propellars are spinning. Even this minute thing is detailed wonderfully. And, not to even mention Aoi's board, which when you move around the snow under your feet is shifted and takes new form. The backgrounds are just amazing by themselves. I could go on and on about the sound and other things about the game, but its simple, just buy the game and judge it for yourself.
