Half-Life 2: The Orange Box: the orange box is a deal you can't refuse

considering that the orange box contains 5 games and only costs the price of 1 game it's a deal too good to pass up considering how fun all 5 games. if you don't already know the orange box contains half life 2, half life 2:episode one and new content such as half life 2:episode two, team fortress 2, and portal. the half life stuff is great especially because you can find out what happens next in the half life saga with the new half life 2:episode 2. with that said of all the content on the disc the 2 games you'll be playing the most are the other 2 new games, portal and team fortress 2. team fortress 2 is a multiplayer only fps which only has 6 maps to play on but it's so fun that once you get into it you learn to not care about the lack of playable maps. also each map has it's own match type. so, for instance one map may be a capture the flag map or another might be a team death match map, so play whichever match type that fits your tastes best. once you start a match you can choose from a variety of class types with 3 classes in 3 different categories. there's the offensive category which has the scout, the solider, and the pyro. there are 2 other categories that i don't have time for but just know that there isn't any one best class so you won't see people playing only as one class. the reason for this is because each class has their own amount of health and their own set of weapons. for instance the heavy class has a larger amount of health than most classes and can deal a great amount of damage with it's chain gun but at the cost of being slower than most of the other classes and even the chain gun takes a second before it starts to fire so if you take to long you can be left open to attacks by classes that can move a lot faster. because there is no perfect class you should just play as the classes that fit your play style best. the other new game on the orange box that you'll be playing a whole lot of is portal. portal is one of the most innovative games i've played in awhile. it's technically an fps but is also a puzzle game at the same time. you get to use this awesome portal gun which like the name implies creates portals and you have to create portals to get past various obstacles such as creating a portal in a certain place that allows you to get across a large gap in the floor leading to your next destination that's to big to jump over and as the game progresses the obstacles become a lot more complex and fun at the same time. however portal is really short, like only a few hours long and if you don't use your brain the right way during harder puzzles it can get kinda frustrating but is still a blast to play even once you beat it. the orange box is definitely a great deal and gives you a lot of bang for your buck
