With the coming of NFL 2K2 doesn't stand much a chance compared to Madden, but X-Box's impressive NFL Fever 2002 coming out, it has gave Madden some competition, but not quite enough. Madden NFL 2002 is still the best football game out there, and is the most enjoyable on the PS2. Microsoft's new game NFL Fever 2002 is still on the same page as Madden though. NFL Fever is more for arcade style, button mashers. That may actual seem more appealling to some gamers, but isn't as good as it sounds. The controls for NFL Fever 2002 on X-Box are not quite as good as Madden 2002 on PS2. Though Madden is more of a simulation style football game, it should still attract many first time football game players and even the not so big football fans. If you want a true arcade style football game, wait until Janurary for NFL Blitz 2002, if not Madden is the game for you. Controls - 5.0 - These controls feel almost perfect and work well with the PS2 controller, and they will be very familiar for PS One Madden fans. These controls are both easy to get used to, and easy to master. Sound - 5.0 - As real as it can get, the sound of the crowd sounds realistic enough to think your at the game yourself. The announcers have improved for last game too, no more repeating themselves. Graphics - 4.5 - They can't get much better then this, yet they do. I still have to say NFL Fever's graphics are still slightly better, but barely. You won't really notice the difference and the game is good enough where you wouldn't care if it had graphics like a classic NES video game. Fun Factor - 4.5 - My personal opinion for the game would be 5.0, but lots of Blitz fans won't find this as fun as NFL Blitz 2002. Arcade style sports fans won't find this as appealing as their beloved Blitz, but it'll stand a fight. Pure NFL simulation isn't for all of us, just most of us.
