Activision and Neversoft is reeling in the success of Guitar Hero III, but that didn't stop the current #1 publisher from releasing information on downloadable content. 1UP reports on the successful launch and upcoming content releasing soon:

"In its first week of release in North America, Guitar Hero III has sold more than $115 million, marking it as the largest launch in its over 20-year history. In addition to bragging about their success, Activision also cleared up their immediate plans for downloadable content. Three new download packs will be made available for Guitar Hero III on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the month of November. The kicker? Each of those download packs contains three songs."

There is no mention when the Wii version will be offering DLC if at all. Destructoid revealed that packs will be Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver and the boss battle packs.

Three songs per pack may not be enough to satisfy all the guitar heroes out there, especially when compared to the opposition offering full length albums. But for the guitar freaks who already mastered the 71 songs, including "Through The Fire and Flames" by DragonForce, can look forward to rockin' out to some new tunes soon!

Hey, thanks: 1UP, Destructoid

It better not be the controversial 500 M$ points for 3 songs
