Blog Post: Potential Psychonauts Psequel? We're Psyched! Subscribe to this RSS feed
Double Fine has just posted mysterious teaser regarding one of gaming's most under-appreciated titles. What does the future hold for the mysterious Psychonauts?
Are they waving hello or goodbye?
Tim Schafer and his company, Double Fine Productions, are no doubt busy working with Jack Black on Brütal Legend, but is it going to give Psychonauts a second chance? Currently on Double Fine's projects webpage shows a blackened out like Psychonauts banner with the words 'Coming Soon' over it as Joystiq reports:
"Hot off the heels of Double Fine's announcement of Brütal Legend, we get this tasty little morsel of potential excellence. On Double Fine's projects page, beneath the link for Brütal Legend, we have the teaser image pictured above. No great mystery regarding its contents -- that's clearly Raz, and the logo for the first Psychonauts."
What this means is unknown as it could possible be a port to the current console or maybe even a sequel. Psychonauts is the same game that put publisher Majesco financially back despite critical acclaim from reviewers. It even received the top spot in our own "Best Sequel-less Games" feature.
This could be very well be good news for Psychonauts or Schafer fans in general. It looks like Double Fine hasn't given up hope on the game yet. But what exactly is Double Fine up to with Psychonauts?
EDIT: Nevermind. (Via 1UP)Hey, thanks: Joystiq

This was without a doubt one of the trippiest and most fun games ever. The postman level was so crazy I showed it to many of my friends that aren't even gamers and they though it was great. They should definately make a sequel.
