A five-track Guitar Hero III will hit Xbox Live tomorrow. We're excited, but not for the reasons you'd expect.

When you play the tracks below, singing won't count.

According to Joystiq, Activision is set to unleash a hearty Guitar Hero III demo on suspecting Xbox 360 owners. This is excellent timing for me, since I'm really looking forward to Rock Band, and I want to prepare for it with Guitar Hero's slightly more difficult tracks.

As a matter of fact, I've been putting in quite a few hours with Guitar Hero II on the 360 with the sole intent of training for EA's upcoming band sim. Sure, the series will always have a place in my heart, and the new guitar is godly, but at $100, the price tag for a nominal upgrade just pales in comparison to Rock Band's, which looks to offer a lot more, in terms of accessories and gameplay for not a whole lot more. Check out the demo tracks below:
