Turok is back, and for the first time in a while, his game might not suck dinosaur balls! Read up on the reasons why.
We've discovered a new species... the Dancisaur!
The Turok series has been in a major standstill with the poorly reviewed Turok Evolution and publisher Acclaim having gone bankrupt since then. Now under development of Propaganda Games, the once popular dinosaur hunter hunts again. ComputerAndVideoGames tells all on the reboot of the series:
"The levels we're playing hint at an FPS with a moody atmosphere, impressive AI and some startling prehistoric pests. The latter is definitely Turok's standout feature, with dinosaurs that look like they've been ripped straight from the celluloid of Jurassic Park. Compared to most forthcoming PS3 shooters, it looks like Turok's firefights will have a tactical edge."
It looks like you'll not only be fighting dinosaurs, but also human soliders as well. Turok will feature a vast array of weapons from flare guns to a shotgun as well as his trusty bow. Included as well are little mini-games and cutscenes like with stealth kills.
CVG tells that the AI (Artificial Intelligence) is much improved with enemies taking cover, flanking, and helping each other discover the player's position. Turok looks like it's more tactical and visceral than its previous games.
Propaganda Games looks likes like its taking Turok in the right direction after Acclaim went array with the series. The official website schedules Turok to be released on February 5, 2008. It will be available for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Hey, thanks: CVG
