Touchstone employs some of Hollywood's finest to voice this next-gen dino-destroyer.

Since it's inception on the N64, Turok has seen it's many iterations spread across nearly every platform. Each game straying further and further from the formula that made Turok on the N64 so great. As a fan of the original Turok I struggled to enjoy any sequel and was sure the franchise was on its way to the dusty gaming archives to hang out with the likes of Toejam, Earl and the Blast Corps. Until now.

Every time I learn something about the newest entry into the Turok franchise, modestly dubbed Turok, I feel the anticipation swell in my stomach. Not only does the game's premise remind me of the things I loved from N64 turok, namely slaughtering dinosaurs in epic battles, but the production quality seems nothing short of staggering. To makes things even more exciting, Touchstone has named the actors who've signed to voice Turok and his compadres.

The list includes Timothy Olyphant, who's playing the lead in the Hitman movie. Ron Perlman, who's voice has graced titles such as The Chronicles of Riddick, Halo, Fallout 3 and FarCry. Donnie Wahlberg from The Sixth Sense and Saw IV. Gregory Norman Cruz will voice Turok, he's from... uh... television's Saving Grace. Lastly Powers Boothe from the likes of Sin City and Deadwood will voice the game's villian. Turok isn't set to release until February but so far it seems that it will be well worth the wait.

Hey, Thanks: Joystiq

Timothy Olyphant is cool and Powers Boothe is a badass, but Donnie Wahlberg? aka Donnie from the New Kids on the Block, aka not Mark Wahlberg? Why's he in the game?

I wish that this game remains faithful to killing lots of dinosaurs.
