From the twisted minds behind Killer 7 comes the Wii's most disturbing game this side of Manhunt 2. Check out the new info on No More Heroes from the Tokyo Game Show!
Travis, on his way to, or coming from, a bloodbath
Grasshopper Manufacture's upcoming game, No More Heroes, showed up at Tokyo Game Show and Shacknews tried out Goichi Suda's (aka Suda51) next game:
"No More Heroes bears little resemblance to that stylish shooter, outside of its cel-shaded graphics. Even in that regard, No More Heroes is a departure, featuring the palette of a full box of crayons compared to Killer7's stark coloring. This new game is all about being loud and kicking ass, rock and roll style. It's a lot like Clover Studio's PS2 beat-em-up God Hand, but with the beating being administered with the help of a bright blue lightsaber."
The player controls the protagonist, Travis Touchdown, by pressing the 'A' button to swing and the 'B' button to kick. However, holding the Wii controller at different heights will change the attack angle. Travis is also able to perform finishing attacks by following the combinations and gestures on screen. Shacknews notes that No More Hero is not the 1-1 sword wielding game that a lot of Wii owners are looking for.
Also noted was the toned blood effects for the Japanese version of the game. The U.S. release will still contain the effects as long ESRB approves as Ubisoft recently picked up the publishing rights of No More Heroes outside of Japan. No More Heroes will be debuting for the Wii on December 6 in Japan, and sometime in February in North America.
Hey, thanks: Shacknews
