I'm feeling some deja vu coming on. Tokyo Game Show is in full effect and Mr. Hideo is there with a brand new peek at his masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It seems like every time there's a big gaming event there's also a new MGS4 trailer to go along with it. And, as usual, I get the same feelings of awe, anticipation and even downright frustration after watching the trailer and then realizing that I won't play this game for several months.

The last trailer - from Konami's Metal Gear celebration - was an introduction to MGS4's four bosses. This time we get a deeper look into the plot of the game. It seems that the nano-machines from previous games now allow soldiers to "share senses". You can watch this happen as Meryl and her group take on some super soldiers known as FROGS. Meryl and her companions seem to read each other's minds, turning simultaneously to vanquish three seperate enemies with three seperate bullets--that is until the mowhawk guy gets a little aggro. This game keeps getting more and more interesting each time a new trailer is released. I think the weapon launderer is an awesome addition. It shows that Metal Gear Solid 4 will employ an ample amount of quirkiness to counter it's stark subject matter. With this new trailer Kojima and company show, once again, that the essence of Metal Gear still persists and is looking better than ever.
