The snow effects in Crysis are mind-blowing.

It seems like Crysis just becomes more visually stunning as each day goes by. While the countdown to it's release slowly ticks away take some time to marinate with Gamespot's and Shacknews' previews of the graphical powerhouse. Gamespot and Shacknews each run through the new level titled 'Ice' by Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. Here's Shacknews detailing the frozen tundra:

"Soft snowflakes fall from the sky, and a fine icy mist swirls throughout the air. It is impressive and enjoyable simply to look around and take in the magnificent sights. Sheer cliff faces extend to dizzying heights, complex root systems jut out from semi-frozen dirt, visible texture tiling appears to be nonexistent.."

Yerli describes the battle tactics of the alien enemies:

"They're intelligent. They work in group packs. If you go cloak, one of them checks out where you are. The others stay back. Then when one finds you, he starts communicating and all the aliens try to support him. "

One notable gameplay aspect is the inclusion of the nanosuit. It provides the player with a variety of strategem to combat the alien enemies. The suit is capable of modifying armor, strength, speed, and cloaking ability. With this many options It is up to the player to choose how to dispatch the enemies.

The Crysis demo releases September 25 while the full retail version is in stores November 16.

Hey, Thanks: Gamespot & Shacknews
