Blog Post: 2K talks BioShock sequels, major delays Subscribe to this RSS feed
With the insane success of the original, you know a BioShock sequel is in the cards. Find out what 2K has to say about the potential for a franchise.
I've already trademarked that tagline.
With the success of BioShock, is it ready for a sequel? In a conference call with Take Two officials, Gamasutra is reporting that BioShock may be a long term franchise. Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said this about BioShock's future:
"Zelnick said that a "roughly every two year schedule" was "optimal," which the company has traditionally roughly followed with its Grand Theft Auto games, saying that it's applying "the same strategy to BioShock" and adding that the company feels "awfully good about where that's going.""
Fans are already clamoring for a sequel, and Take Two is looking to provide it within a reasonable timeframe. BioShock received near perfect marks and praise from reviews along with mass consumer appeal.
Along with discussing BioShock, Take Two gave word that L.A. Noire and Beatrrator pushed back into 2009. L.A. Noire is an interactive detective story set in the 1940's. It is currently scheduled for the Playstation 3. Beatrrator is an unique music mixing game for the PSP.
Hey, thanks: Gamasutra

Yay for Bioshock! But boo for L.A. Noire! I'm looking forward to L.A. Noire. It seems like those old school adventure games like DeJa Vu and all the other mystery puzzle games. Sadly the adventure genre seems to be dead. I hope Team Bondi can recreate a resurgence in these types of games. All in all, this is great success to 2K Boston/Australia. I just hope they don't milk the title to death though.
