Sony lays down the law and censors the all discussion of PSP Homebrewing on the official forums.
Just because old games are old doesn't mean I don't want to play them on the bus.
Sony denies the use of it's official forums to those interested in discussing Homebrewing, positing the statement:
"Homebrew applications void the warranty of the PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) system, and an official area to discuss such activities cannot be provided by SCEA. Any postings that are clearly homebrew-related, such as those providing instructions on downgrading firmware updates, will be removed from this board."
Come on Sony, really? You're acting like a parent who just found an empty beer bottle in their kids room and punishes them by throwing out all the booze in the house. You know the kid is just going to sneak sips of Goldschlagger from the box under his Uncle's bed. And Sony, you should know that PSP Homebrewers are just going to find another place to talk.
Though there's surely an entire gambit of disadvantages, I propose that Sony simply go with the flow and let people tinker with the PSP. It's inevitable and someone will likely produce something better than the standard PSP fare. Seriously, I know cat poops that are more entertaining. If the PSP had a quality Homebrew Super Nintendo emulator then I'd re-buy a PSP in a second. I believe that a system like that could give the virtual console a run for it's money. And Sony wouldn't have to do a thing except stop being such a-holes, which could be difficult for them.
Hey, Thanks: Kotaku

Sony cant afford the luxury to still be an asshole. They are losing big time this console war and they may not get back their numero 1 spot
