Blog Post: Halo 3 or Kidneys... Subscribe to this RSS feed
Game Daily crunches the numbers to determine how much the ultimate Halo fan is going to spend on September 25.
Who needs Kidneys anyway?
It's less than a month now until Master Chief's arrival here on Earth and the Halo fandom is getting rowdy as we count the seconds until September 25th. If you haven't already done the math and set aside your special Halo 3 funds, GameDaily has broken down the cost of owning the definitive Halo collection:
" Getting a Halo 3 Legendary Edition game, plus one limited edition Halo 3 controller, plus you throw in a Halo3 limited-edition wireless headset and the Messenger Kit into the bag. Adding that all together, your total damage comes to a mere $279.96 (plus tax, unless you live in Alaska, New Hampshire, Delaware, Montana or Oregon). Of course, if you don't have a Xbox 360 or you've modified your old one so much that Microsoft won't take it back, the gold and green adorned Halo 3 Limited Edition Xbox 360 will add $399.99 to your cost. Sadly, apart from HDMI connectivity and special themes, you'll still have to buy all the above for $679.95."
$679.95(+ taxes) is how much a Halo fanatic will spend for the ulitmate Halo collection.
The fandom doesn't stop there as Microsoft's entire multi-media blitz of Halo 3 advertising makes it impossible to throw a copy of Resistance without hitting something related to Halo 3. As the killer app goes Gold before even being released we're bombarded by trailers, live-action short films, commercials, an ARG, a public beta, and recently Halo 3's Gamefuel (which is orange version of Mountain Dew). And it's all going to culminate on 9/25/07.
For anyone who is getting the definitive Halo collection, it looks like they will be more than ready to finish the fight...even on legendary.
Hey, Thanks: GameDaily

People who waste about $700 on Halo merchandise have no life. Seriously.
