The sequel to the quirky PSP adventure game LocoRoco is coming to the PS3, and it somehow has managed to be weirder.

Sleep tight, little LocoRocos. It's almost time to visit the PS3!

According to IGN, the PS3 version of LocoRoco will be quite an all new experience in more ways than one. Not only will LocoRoco Cocoreccho make use of the Sixaxis controller, but the game won't be a true game, per se. Instead, LocoRoco will take the form of an "interactive screensaver".

The preview then goes on to list many game-like features, including mini-games (or are they mini-screensavers?) and online leaderboards. In fact, the only details that were lacking dealt with the "interactive screen saver" element. Will LocoRoco launch when you leave a game paused for a certain amount of time? Will it play in the background of the PS3's main menu? Can it be started manually?

Mysteries abound for LocoRoco Cocoreccho, and, thankfully, we won't have to wait long for them to be solved. The "interactive screen saver" is due to release in Japan on September 21. Hopefully we can make sense of it before it comes to the US.

Hey, thanks: IGN
