Fans all over the world are loving BioShock, but like anything, the internet has found things in the greatest FPS in years to complain about.
Widescreen laid over fullscreen. Note that top of fullscreen is not red when you play.
Some of the more unusual development decisions made by Irrational (2K Boston) have come to light recently due to the eagle eyes of the game's fervent fans.
The first issue is the unique way the game handles the main characters field of vision (FOV). 2K chose a unique method of framing the action that makes the fullscreen (4:3) aspect ratio show more of the FOV, which displeased HDTV-friendly gamers web-wide. 2K offered an explanation (see "The Truth About Widescreen") that basically put to rest any fears of a compromised widescreen mode. In a gaming culture where widescreen is praised above all, it's nice to see standard display owners not have to be punished with letter-boxing in a medium that doesn't have to adhere to it.
Kotaku picked up on another hot-button issue circulating the 2K forums, when it was discovered that the PC version's end user license agreement (EULA) only allows for only one installation, essentially locking the game into the owner's current hardware. Again, 2K quelled the rebellion rather fast, stating that the EULA allows for reinstallation as long as the game is uninstalled properly.
While it's nice that 2K was quick in responding to these complaints, the rapid rate of odd quirks to the game is a bit alarming. If this is what gamers are finding within two days of release, could there be bigger problems in the pike?
Hey, thanks: Kotaku

That is a little messed up, but its not that big of a deal, it won't take away form the gameplay. I'm surprised someone even noticed this, i mean you would have had to play it on a 4:3 tv then for some reason switch to widescreen.
