Blog Post: Journalists ask: Why can't we all dance to Boogie? Subscribe to this RSS feed
Normally when a game is bad, it's bad across the board. In the case of Boogie, some writers are wondering where the hate is coming from.
Surprisingly, this isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Even though it's so far out of my realm of fun that it can't see out of the sucky horizon, the critical reception for EA's Wii rhythm title Boogie has interested me--particularly a pair of articles that have pointed out the disparity of opinion for the title. GamePro took a look at the wide range of review scores--with it being one of the few outlets praising the game. Combining that with MTV's analysis of the game's critical reception from the developers, and it begs the question--are reviewers approaching games like this with a flawed perspective? Woud a game like this be better served by being reviewed by someone with a casual affinity for gaming? It's something that certainly heeds discussion.

I always thought this game was gay to begin with.

maybe, since I could see more casual gamers getting this game.

Hmmmmmm interesting. I think it is more of a difference in how scoring the game is. I think it's more of "Overall fun" scoring system versus a "Okay this is being dished to this type of crowd" and adds that into the mix as a overall score also.
