GameRevolution has found a way to differentiate all the forthcoming first-person shooters that actually works!
Quick, which war-based title is this?
I came out of E3 this year with the same sense of dread that I do every year... that games are becoming too cookie-cutter. There's always a surplus of Devil May Cry-esqe action games, GTA-knockoff crime sims and, worst of all, war-renactments in a action-shooter candy shell. What's the difference between Medal of Honor and Brothers in Arms? Fracture and Frontlines? When the PR pitches and cliche cutscenes start bleeding together, I'm thankful for a site like Game Revolution that manages to produce a novel way to help educate me on the wave of FPS titles set to crash down on the industry.
The Rev has a neat li'l feature up called "The Shooting Gallery" that asks you a few simple, if slightly askew questions that will ultimately lead to a preview for the shooter that best melds with your mindset. By asking entertaining, yet relevant questions-- are you the type that'd save Ginger or Mary-Ann? Would you rather shoot a Nazi or Zombie?--the game spits out a title that meets those specifications. I plugged my preferences into the feature and was recommended Fracture, which does seem to scratch my shooter itch like few shooters do. I only wish other sites could use something like this to help manage the clutter of previews and reviews on gaming sites. Gracias, Revolucion!

Nice, the first two times i did it, it didn't produce the games i was looking forward to But then it hit the nail right on the head with Orange Box and 2 other games i plan on picking up. Also i'm digging Fracture also. Too bad it won't be out till next year.
