Play as Joe Montana in All-Pro Football 2K8!

Right about now is the time of year I begin lamenting the absence of football in my life. The longing sends me into a desperate downward spiral of confusion, like a baby fox whose mother enters the wild in search of food only never to return.

Luckily for me, and those of you who sympathize, there's a series of titles being released that will help tide my craving for touchdowns, penalties, interceptions and the occasional mid-field volley.

For all the football junkies out there we've compiled the reviews for NCAA Football '08, All-Pro Football 2K8 and Mario Strikers Charged (c'mon football's football, regardless). All-Pro Football 2K8, though it lacks NFL licensing and hence NFL teams, players, stadiums etc. is still a complete and entertaining game.

"All-Pro Football 2K8 is a decent comeback from Visual Concepts and 2K Sports. The game shipped with passable production values, dated graphics, and a minimal number of play modes, so it's hard to consider this a good value at the $59.99 price point." - Gamespy

Mario Strikers Charged improves upon it's Gamecube descendant in almost every way, making it one of the Wii's best titles to date.

"Thankfully, Next Level has paired down the game's controls from Charged's Leipzig debut last year, with the slightly fussy waggle-tackle now replaced by a simple button press. In fact, despite using remote and nunchuck attachments, controls are impressively stream-lined, with the developer reigning in any wayward waggle-tendencies for a more straightforward, accessible approach." - IGN
