Blog Post: Corruption: A new revolution? Subscribe to this RSS feed
Metroid Prime 3's new control method had many gamers wary, but the game's showing at E3 certainly changed some minds. Check out what the critics had to say.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo started off with a big bang and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is buzzing about it finally utilizing the Wii controller. Does this mean a new revolution in gaming control is about to occur? IGN details the new level of control:
"Samus controls better in Prime 3 than she ever has before. In fact, the heroine's tight maneuverability and speed nurture a level of accuracy never before possible in a console-based first-person experience."
Destructoid also agrees with its hands on impression with Corruption too:
"The controls for Corruption are so responsive, so correct, and so intuitive, that I've finally been convinced that the Wii is the new home for first person adventures. I know that those are some bold words (and that games like Red Steel have left a pretty bad taste in player's mouths), but if you play Corruption for just ten minutes, you'll become a believer too."
It seems that Retro took the extra time it had to really fine tune the controls so it would feel natural and responsive. With the underwhelming controls from Ubisoft's Red Steel souring many on the Wii FPS experience, Corruption sounds like it's turning very well.
Is this the control revolution gamers are finally looking for since analog? Looks like we will all find out next month on August 27th.
Hey, thanks: IGN, Destructoid
