Blog Post: E3 Predictions: The Obscure List Subscribe to this RSS feed

With E3 less than 3 weeks away, many people have been posting their predictions of what they want to see. We've compiled a list of some of the forgotten titles and programs that need some light shed on them, and soon.

Of course, it's been the obvious big titles everyone wants to see; Halo, Metal Gear, Killzone, Mario, GTA IV and the whole works. There's also the longshots that we've highlighted here. Instead of repeating the obvious and bore everyone, how about the things that seemed to drop off people's radar?

Microsoft:
No arms left, Peter.

No arms left, Peter.

Games for Windows: Microsoft's PC gaming initiative hasn't turned up well since the company announced it last year. With disappointments from Halo 2 and Shawdowrun, PC gaming needs a real shot in the arm. With Spore being pushed back into the fiscal year of 09, Games for Windows needs something big to come of this E3.

Live Anywhere: This program hasn't turned out any better either. Lets hope the service will improve.

Alan Wake: One of the more unique titles for Vista and the 360 has been teetering on the brink of cancellation for quite some time. Let's hope for more information and a release date for this psychological thriller.

More Tattoos: Come on Peter Moore, I dare you to get a tattoo on your forehead. What will his next tattoo be?

Nintendo:

Project H.A.M.M.E.R.: Rumors swirled earlier that this game was canned in favor of more casual games. This looked to be an exciting addition to their pledge to create new franchises. Hopefully we'll have the title's ultimate fate revealed next month, and hopefully, it'll remain Wii-bound

No More Heroes: From the creator of Killer7, No More Heroes has dropped off people's radar. With Suda51 promising that this game will be more violent than Manhunt (and that may not work out well now), maybe this is why it dropped off of people's radar. Never the less, still an interesting title. The website has gone live, but information's still scarce.

Two things we want-- more of that orchestra game, and more Nintendo press conference fun.

Fire Emblem: With Marth and Roy's introduction in Smash Bros. Melee, Fire Emblem sure has a following in America. Fire Emblem on the Wii is already out in Japan, why not here?

Disaster: Day of Crisis: Also a part of Nintendo's new line of franchises. Not much information has been given since last year's E3.

Par-tay!: Last year Nintendo put on a show with a musical conducted by Miyamoto. If Reggie Fils-Aime comes out in a Terminator costume and starts to kick ass and take names, that would be awesome! Or even a demo of Brawl with Miyamoto, Iwata, Kojima, and Fils-Aime duking it out for superiority. I think we all want to see who's the better gamer.

Sony:

Playstation Eye: One of the most unique piece of hardware Sony has announced. An official statement was released a while back ago, so I expect this piece of hardware to be shown off along with Eye of Judgment and Eyedentify. A price tag would be nice as well.

Coded Arms: Assault: While the PSP version wasn't all to spectacular, maybe the console version will be better. This title just seemed to drop off the face of the Earth. No details, no information, nothing since E3 06 trailer. Rumors even swirled that it was canceled.

The Agency: A new unique spy MMO for the PS3. Sounds very intriguing. More information please!

Afrika: What the hell is this game about? Hopefully Sony'll shed some light on it soon.

Heavy Rain: This title hasn't been officially been announced for any specific console, but most likely it will appear for PC and the 360 as well. But since it debuted at Sony's booth last year, we'll assume it's under Sony's umbrella for now.

Well, we all expect new surprises from the big 3 at E3, so most likely new games will be announced by all three along with more information on the big titles as well. No surprises there, but it would be nice to have more information on the obscure titles that don't quite get the same coverage as the AAA titles?

I am really hoping Sony reveals more about Heavy Rain. The early pics looked fantastic, it looks unlike any game I've ever seen.
