#5 Mr. Saturn from Super Smash Bros Melee

Not the Mr. Saturn from Earthbound we've grown so accustomed to. Yes, I refer to the projectile Mr. Saturn with which Mario and friends strike each other so elegantly in Smash Bros. Using characters from other games as weapons is pretty unconventional, but knowing the bizzare Mr. Saturn race like we do, we're sure they doesn't mind the attention... or the punishment.

#4 The Shower Head from Dead Rising

While playing Dead Rising, nothing was more confusing than picking up a shower head and wondering, "What the heck is this used for?" Then, after jamming it into a zombie's head and watching it bathe in a shower of it's own blood, you realize that it's just about the most bad ass weapon ever.

#3 The Raging Boner from Custer's Revenge

You never quite think of a boner as a weapon until you've played Custer's Revenge, a game that rewrites the history books. Instead of being a decorated soldier, General George Armstrong Custer was a naked man with a constant erection that he used to attack (or have sex with... we couldn't realy tell) tied-up nude Native-American women. It's sexist and racist and the use of a boner caused upheaval back in the Atari days. Though we here at Games.Net do not condone racist boners in any way, it still makes the list as one of the most unconventional weapons ever.

#2 The Turnip from Super Mario Bros. 2

Shock number one for the children of 1988 playing Super Mario Bros. 2 for the first time--jumping on enemies won't kill them. Shock number two-- turnips will. The root vegetable might be rich in carbohydrates and part of a healthy diet but for many a Shy Guy it meant a trip to the hospital with severe concussions and brain hemorrhages.

#1 The Red Shell from Mario Kart

While shells have been a weapon since the days of Mario Bros., the Koopa Troopa's shell really came into its own as a weapon when Mario and co began engaging in extra-curricular competition. After the first time a homing red shell earned you a come-from-behind victory in Super Mario Kart, it couldn't be debated... the shell reigns hell.
