Grave is a mysterious undead gangster resurrected to take revenge on his former best friend-they had a falling out when Grave's friend shot him to death. Armed with a pair of magical pistols-they never run out of ammo, and a Coffin full of missiles, Grave journeys on a quest of wanton violence. Zombie Mafiosos were so last week.
Sam Raimi's Evil Dead films have been a cult favorite ever since they were unleashed on the unsuspecting world in 1981. The latest incarnation of Raimi's Evil Dead series, Evil Dead: Regeneration (Fall 2005) will allow players to power-up Ashe, the main protagonist in the trilogy, and unleash a playable Evil Ashe, an undead demon possessed version of our hero, to do your bidding. Evil Ashe will be a drastically powered up version of Ashe with one-hit kills and a host of sarcastic one-liners.
Ever wonder what a free roaming massive multiplayer online action zombie game would be like? Capcom attempted to answer that question with their Resident Evil Outbreak series. While the game was haphazardly spliced together, and missing live chat, Outbreak allowed players to actually cooperate with each other to survive the zombie manifestations in Raccoon City. When player characters died in game, they would return as playable zombies who could hunt down their former comrades. Now, all Capcom needs to do is add live chat and the ability to kill other player characters to steal their items and it'll be the perfect zombie apocalypse game.
Final Fantasy fan favorite undead gunman Vincent Valentine is going to be resurrected once again to save the world in the Final Fantasy VII sequel Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (November 2005). Originally killed in the Shinra Mansion in Final Fantasy VII, Vincent underwent anatomic reconstruction and through the companionship of his Final Fantasy party he started to heal his wounded soul. Speculation persists on if Vincent is Sephiroth's father, and if he's a vampire or zombie? Maybe the controversy will be finally put to rest in this new game.
You have to respect a undead guy who is so irritated that humans are encroaching on his peaceful grave that he takes it upon himself to eradicate mankind. Using the Halo graphics engine, and sporting the ability to rip limbs off humans, suck brains, use detachable limbs as weapons, and turn victims into fellow zombies, this game is a treat. Look for Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse in mid October 2005.
