Net Ten: Ten Crazy (But Possible) E3 Announcements (page 1) Subscribe to this RSS feed

The speculation mounts as E3 nears. Even though the event is a mere shadow of its former self, we game enthusiasts still manage to conjure up surprisingly high expectations. Here are our top ten wishes for the upcoming E3. While they may be outlandish, we made sure to keep them somewhere in the realm of possibility.

Be sure to also check out our look at the obscure titles that need to be at E3!

#10 Banjo Kazooie 3

The beloved franchise that began on the N64 has not seen the light of day since a trailer was shown at last fall. Rare's gone dark for quite some time, and Microsoft hasn't chatted much about games that don't end in -alo 3, so hopefully there'll be more info on this mysterious title next month.

#9 Killzone 2 Playable

No, we don't want your stinking trailers. Killzone on the PS3 already has embarassed itself at E3 before with the overpromising trailer back in 2005. Killzone is almost a given to be shown this year in some capacity--but if Sony wants to win fanboy favor back to this series, it has to put out a Halo-killing playable demo.

#8 Resident Evil 5

Capcom is coming and they'll have their hands full presenting and hyping their other titles especially Devil May Cry 4. However Resident Evil 5 remains Capcoms white unicorn--the ace up its sleeve. The company already has a Resident Evil game to hype this year in Umbrella Chronicles, so will it dedicate any hype to the largely underhyped RE5?

#7 Star Wars on the WIi

Light saber sound effects through the Wii Remote's speaker? Highly detailed saber movements? The second Nintendo announced the Wii's features, visions of lightsaber combat began to form in the heads of gamers across the globe. Lucasarts has been tight lipped about progress, but a potential cash cow like this has to be in some state of development. Since not much has been said recently, it's possible that Lucasarts is waiting until E3 to unleash this one.

#6 A Redesigned PSP

Early reports say that Sony is looking to give the struggling hand-held a face lift. Unlike the original DS, however, the PSPs problems are more than cosmetic, and large changes could be divisive to the system's installed base. If the company can manage to make great changes without rocking the boat, then perhaps they can right the PSP's course.
