#10 Get On The Mic - [ PS2 ]

Get On The Mic is the first hip-hop karaoke videogame, and with any luck, it'll be the last. The idea is certainly ambitious: Eidos sought to present players with the opportunity to spit their own flow over the slick beats of 40 classic hip-hop tracks. Unfortunately, Eidos spent so much effort acquiring the licensed instrumental tracks that they forgot to create an enjoyable experience. You know something's wrong when you can pass the entire game in a few hours by mumbling like Ol' Dirty Bastard.

#9 Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style - [ Playstation ]

During the height of the "Wu World Order", Activision released this classic hip-hop fighter. Based on the Thrill Kill game engine, Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style allows hip-hop aficionados to assume the various roles of the infamous Wu-Tang Clan. While occasionally humorous, Shaolin Style's gameplay is fatally flawed and the title is only suitable for diehards.

#8 Fight Night 2004 - [ PS2 ]

While not directly related to the hip-hop culture, Fight Night does exude the style and panache that constitutes a hip-hop videogame. Sporting an exceptional gaming engine and several hip-hop music tracks such as Puff Daddy's: Victory and Federation featuring E-40: Hyphy, Fight Night brings the street piazzas to the ring.

#7 NBA Street V3 - [ PS2 ]

The streetball subculture doesn't get enough attention in the media, and NBA Street was the first creditable game series to transport this mentality to gamers. Don't scoff: the NBA Street Series lets fans play streetball without fear of getting scratched, kneed, or simply robbed.

Tapping into the Dubs car customization subculture, MidnightClub 3: DUB Edition introduced massive amounts of customization options. After all, it's no fun to simply be the fastest racer on the block. To truly triumph, you need to win races while exemplifying your grandiose sense of wealth and style with your "whip".
