Games.net takes a compelling look at the Top Playable Zombie Characters in recent console titles.

#10 Undertaker - [ Xbox ]

While technically a real fresh and blood human being, the wrestler named the Undertaker has returned to his original undead persona--which qualifies him to be at the bottom of the Zombie list. The corporeal Undertaker has been wrestling for the WWE for over 25 years, and his video game incarnation has appeared in almost every WWE game to date. Sure, he's only posing as a dead guy, but isn't that better than the lame-ass American biker persona he adopted a few years ago.

#9 Bone Cold - [ PS2 ]

Originally appearing in the anime Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle: Second Generation), Bone Cold is the undead wrestling son of Skull Duggery who has developed a huge validation complex due to his fathers ruthless training regimen to exact revenge against the Kinniku family. Both powerful and ruthless, Bone Cold is the favored villain character for newbs-and you only have to collect 300 capsule toys to unlock him!

#8 Skull Duggery - [ GameCube ]

If this undead fellow looks familiar to you, chances are you've seen a one-inch pastel colored figure of him as a kid. Skull Duggery (Kinkotsu Man) is an obscure wrestling character from the Kinnikuman anime and manga universe (Ultimate Muscle) that has appeared as an unlockable character Ultimate Muscle: Legends Vs. New Generation and Galactic Wrestling: Featuring Ultimate Muscle. Quick, wily, and possessing an arsenal of dirty underhanded moves, this undead fellow is a trip to play, and not to be underestimated as an opponent.

#7 Aliens Disguised as Zombies! - [ PS2 ]

Released under dismal reviews, Under the Skin was actually a pretty decent multiplayer party game-ala Super Smash Brothers. The premise of Under the Skin involves players assuming the roles of shape shifting aliens who impersonate humans and attack them for coins. Under the Skin makes our undead top playable characters list for allowing players to assume Zombie forms in a Raccoon City inspired level lifted from the Resident Evil universe. It's the first game ever to allow aliens to transform into zombies...and that's bizarre.

#6 Zombie Form - [ Xbox ]

For those uninitiated, the Metal Slug series is a classic arcade side-scrolling shooter with a dash of SNK silliness. Metal Slug is known for incorporating very weird, but fully functional status ailments including a zombie form. Players that are fortunate enough to suffer from zombie form will have their mobility reduced by half, but they'll gain the highly coveted zombie vomit ability-which if used correctly can take out every character onscreen at once.
