Feature: We're giving away a Crimson/Black DS Bundle! Subscribe to this RSS feed

A contest so big, it takes three websites to run it!

The Prize
All this (and possibly more) can be yours!

All this (and possibly more) can be yours!

As you all remember, we recently received a brand new Crimson/Black Nintendo DS Lite which came bundled with Brain Age 2 and a bonus carrying case. GamePro's Vicious Sid did a recent unboxing with lots of sexy pictures which you can find here. And rather than hanging onto it, we're going to give it away to you.

Why are we doing this? Maybe it's because we're crazy. Or perhaps we are harboring a lot of guilt from our past mistakes and we're trying to tip the Karmic balance back into our favor. Or even more likely, we are benevolent aliens from another planet whose mission is to come to Earth and give away as many electronics as we possibly can in the name of galactic peace.

Seriously, though, does it matter why we're giving this thing away? No, of course it doesn't. The simple fact is that we're giving away this delicious looking piece of gaming hardware and you all are eligible to win it, so stop asking questions and listen up, because we're going to tell you how to you can enter for your chance at this delectable prize. Besides, you all know why we're giving it away: it's because we love you.

A lot.

The Contest

On Thursday the 13th of September, we will open up the entry form on GamePro.com. And what do you need to do to win this fabulous prize pack? You just have to submit a gaming themed haiku! This proved so popular for Halo Zune contest that we're resurrecting the idea for this one. Except now, we're opening up the theme to include anything gaming related.

Not sure what a haiku is? Check out the definition here on the always handy Wikipedia. Traditionally, haikus consist of three lines: the first contains 5 syllables, the second contains 7, and the third contains 5. There are other rules that help define what a haiku is but we're just having fun, so don't worry about it.

Here's an example that we've whipped up to inspire you:

Here, under the sea
Your Paradise is crumbling
I need more Adam

As you can guess, we're referencing the game Bioshock. Think you can do better? Of course you can! So put on your thinking caps and get composing. The best part is that we're allowing multiple entries, so post as many haikus as you want. Just make them good or they won't have a chance in the world.

The Bonus

But wait! There's a twist! We're going to award different prizes depending on your rank. Let us explain:

-- If a n00b or Button Masher ranked reader wins, they'll just get the standard package consisting of the Nintendo DS, Brain Age 2 and the carrying case.

-- If a Playa or Ninja ranked reader wins, they'll get the standard package plus a random DS game of our choosing.

-- If an End Boss or above (this includes you, Mods) ranked reader wins, then they'll not only get the standard package, they'll get two DS games, one random game of our choosing and one game of their choosing!

Holy Schinke, what a prize! And yes, we do this because we want to reward our senior members for all their hard work. See how fair we are? You all have an equal chance to win but the senior members will get a better prize pack as a thank you for their hard work.

As we said, the entry form will go live this Thursday on GamePro.com. That means you have to submit your haikus on a separate page on that date, though you're open to freeform and work out ideas here in the meantime. The contest will remain open for one week, and we will then announce winners on Gamerhelp.com. So get creative and start working on your haikus for a chance to win!!!
