A cover so ugly, it's scary!

2. GamePro, September 1997

Here's a classic example of ill-advised art design ruining what could've been a decent cover. GamePro was among the only mags to put Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on their cover in 1997, but the effect largely went to waste here -- character art plastered all over the place, the Photoshop Glow effect abused like an unlucky stepdaughter, and the GamePro logo itself dripping with blood like this is a 1960s Creature Feature or something. I know Alucard isn't the prettiest Castlevania hero out there, but surely something better could've been done with the assets at hand.
