Tom Kalinske was the president and CEO of Sega from 1990 to 1996, right during their heyday as a console manufacturer. He, along with Sonic the Hedgehog, was the main reason why Nintendo was pulling its hair out at the competition throughout the early '90s. Does this mean that putting some middle-aged business executive on the cover of a consumer game magazine is a hot idea? The answer is good god, of course not. We're only now in an age where truly prolific, well-known gaming geniuses like Miyamoto and Kojima can grace a mag cover. Putting any exec not named Reggie on a gaming magazine cover is still pretty risky.
