8. Nights (Nights into Dreams...)

Female Gender Clues:
1. Nights can contort and twist his/her body in ways few men can.
2. . I'm confident that those are sequins on Nights' sleeve.

Male Gender Clues:
1. Of the two sexes, males generally have larger feet, and I can say with some confidence that those feet seem large.
2. Males often aspire to live some sort of rock n' roll lifestyle, and one could speculate that playing Air Flute is Nights' attempt to do so.

Gender Disclosure:
Nights is full-on androgynous, which makes sense when you consider either the male or female lead can morph into it.

7. Endrance (.hack)

Female Gender Clues:
1. If Endrance went to my high school, he/she would have been mocked constantly for having womanly "Chicken Legs." Trust me.
2. Males should consider themselves lucky that the trend of toting around live animals as fashion accessories hasn't crossed gender lines. I simply don't think men are strong enough to carry around bags filled with live Pit Bulls.

Male Gender Clues:
1. Samuel L. Jackson (a noted male) has been quoted as saying: "purple looks cool." So if it's good enough for Mr. Jackson and Endrance, who am I to dissent?
2. .hack is a game that takes place in an MMORPG environment. If you're playing as an ambiguous character in a game like this, you're probably a dude.

Gender Disclosure:
Endrance the character is a guy. The person "playing as" Endrance is probably also a guy, but a bit of a weird one.
