Lefty Link gets the snub

The best ambidextrous hero EVAR.

The best ambidextrous hero EVAR.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess finally released for the Nintendo GameCube this week. You know... the console it was actually developed for! Of course, with the Wii on everyone's minds, this version was released with almost a complete lack of fanfare or marketing. A few outlets rightly bemoaned Nintendo for the lack of cooperation in getting the title to the press (and, from what we've heard, gaming retail) in a timely fashion. It seems as though the company has little to worry about in regards to the GameCube version outshining the Wii as the few sites that were able to snag a copy have given higher marks to the new-gen version. Still, Link as a lefty just doesn't feel... right.

Elebit-ch slapping the rest

Elebits had a decent amount of hype coming out of E3--it was the unanimous "oh, and this was good" winner after critics had finished drooling over Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy. If the early review returns are any indication, it could be one of the best titles to hit the system, Zelda notwithstanding. On a system that's destined to be filled with familiar franchises, it's nice to see an original IP accompany the system's unique method of gameplay. If anything, it's great to get a respite from the reviews for animated-movie knockoffs that have cluttered Wii sections across the net.
