Feature: Ex Kaos Wars CTO Responds to Reality Series Subscribe to this RSS feed
On Games.net's newest episode of Creating Kaos, we watched Loren Roosendaal leave SRI Studios. Read his response to the situation.
Loren Roosendaal, former CTO of Kaos War and longtime friend of Damon Grow has recently left the the independent gaming project featured in Craeting Kaos, citing health, legal, and personal issues. Creating Kaos is an original Games.net video series that follows the CEO of the project, Damon Grow as he struggles to create the world's largest MMO.
Loren has issued this brief statement in response to his departure from SRI studios.
Loren's Statement:I've enjoyed Creating Kaos with Damon, as well as all the other teammembers, many of which I consider my friends. Ever since I first partnered up with damon on the project I have never lost faith in the potential of it, we've been through plenty of rough times together and we both brought in a lot of the people that form the core team that is Creating Kaos War today. We turned what was a small startup project into a commercialy viable title and company in record time and in doing so inspired people around the world to join us. Unfortunately the rate at which the project is succeeding has caught up with me... Because of the incredible pressure and flurry of legal and personal issues, that need to be taken into constant consideration to allow a project like this to succeed, whilst keeping the personal risks to an acceptable level, I've had to step back from my position. I will continue to offer the team advice and help them along on their path to publishing, I just can't function as a full time CTO and Lead Programmer for the time being.
I will miss being a full partner in this project, as you can imagine it is very hard to have no choice but to take a step back on a project you've helped create and shape, especialy when you know that so far it's on track to become a smashing success. It's ironic to think that had I not worked so hard to help take this project where it is today I might have been able to follow it through to completion as it's CTO.
It's been a great journey so far and we're not stopping yet, I'm sure I've learned as much as I have had a chance to teach people being the CTO on this project. My dreams and aspirations haven't changed, so rest assured that anyone with a love for games will definately be hearing more from me in the future. Be it working on Kaos War or another unique title.
