So far we've made it through press conferences by Square Enix, Activision, and Sony. Here's a round-up of today's big news from a few of the industries largest publishers.
No doubt Square Enix is knee deep in new Final Fantasy games, which GamePro.com has all the latest news on what went down at the Square press conference. Even bigger news comes from Activision and its E3 product line-up.
First-person shooter fans rejoice as Call of Duty 3 has officially been announced for next-generation systems accompanied by an action-packed trailer rivaling the intense intro to Saving Private Ryan. Straight off the press release, "experience the intensity of being closer than ever to the fury of combat during the battle for the Liberation of Paris, the most harrowing campaign of WWII, known as The Normandy Breakout." And you thought war games were on their way out.
Downhill Jam
Also announced during Activision's conference were two new Tony Hawk games. Tony Hawk's Project 8 for PS3 and Xbox 360 is the next step to achieving real-life visuals, as you can see in 1UP.com's preview. The other title is Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam for the Nintendo Wii. Exciting enough as it is that a skateboarding game will function with the Wii-mote, there are also 11 screens demonstrating how the Wii-mote is held and used along with the game's so-so visuals.
For the comic fans, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and X-Men: The Official Game are expected for release this holiday season on current and next-gen systems. With the help of powerful next-generation graphics, Activision plans to unveil a stunning sneak peak at the highly anticipated Spider-Man 3.
