Feature: BUNGIE WATCH: Halo 3 Downgraded to 'Mythical' Subscribe to this RSS feed

The latest Bungie Watch sheds light on the "Mythical Halo 3, the inner-workings of Bungie founder Alex Seropian, and a possibility of Halo 3 on the Nintendo Revolution.

We'd love to give you a rip-roaring update, but the past two weeks have been sadly light on Bungie news. We do have a few gems, though.

A recent interview with Next Generation, Microsoft Game Studios manager Shane Kim said that the "mythical Halo 3... would be carefully dealt with when the time is right." He also claims that the game, which he refused to even confirm by name, must have "huge significance."

Our advice: If Microsoft wants to save the Xbox 360, they would be wise to introduce this killer app sooner than later. Like it or not, Halo 3 is the Xbox 360. At least, for now.

Imagine Halo On This Baby

Earlier this month, rumors flew about an EGM interview with Halo creator Jason Jones, who insinuated that the developer was very interested in the FPS capabilities of the Nintendo Revolution's controller.

But there's one small problem with that interview: it doesn't exist.

This "Halo on Revolution" rumor was swiftly debunked by Bungie's Online Content Producer Frank O'Connor. Jason Jones was secretly bitch slapped by Dictator Microsoft and told to remember his place in the food chain. At least, that's how we like to imagine it.

Now for the freaky news. Jason Jones and Alex Seropian, founder of Bungie, are two peas in a pod. Without the meticulous planning and design habits of these gaming legends, Halo would just be a sparkle in Bungie's collective eye. Wired Magazine talks with the obsessive/compulsive Alex Seropian about his bizarre cataloguing procedures, and what do you know--Seropian is as intimate about making games as he is cooking, going so far as to meticulously schedule time for cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

But whatever you do, don't call Seropian's Halo a "turkey," or he'll go all Stubbs on you.
