Get ready, survival horror fans! Capcom has announced Resident Evil 5 (aka BioHazard) for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We only need to know one thing: when can we play it?
Historically, Capcom has tended to keep loyal fans waiting and waiting and waiting for hit sequels--Street Fighter 3 is a prime example. But all that's in the past; Resident Evil 5, or "BioHazard 5" as it's known outside the U.S., has already reared its ghoulish head, just six months after the Gamecube release of Resident Evil 4. And the good news is that it looks simply stunning. See for yourself--the video is available right here.
Conspicuously absent in the announcement is any mention of a Nintendo Revolution version of Resident Evil 5. This is notworthy because Resident Evil 4 was originally released as an exclusive title for Nintendo's Gamecube. And though it sold well--NPD data suggests sales upward of 500,000 units through April of 2005--the game wasn't an earth-shaking blockbuster. Capcom later announced that they would release RE4 for the PlayStation 2, and that version is due out this fall.
